Monday 22nd July

Coomeroo - Noccundra

Sun did not rise until about 6:30 and it was to cold to get out of bed before then even though we were awake.  Breaky in the great camp kitchen near the homestead had a chat to Bruce as Chris was rounding up the calf’s to feed them cotton seed.  We  had a look around the property before heading off again.

Now at Hungerford 10:30am looked around town and the pub before driving 14ks to the Currawinya  N.P to have morning tea at the sheering shed.

Now it is back 14ks to the turnoff to Thargominda the road was not too bad a few road works happening along the way stopped on the side of the road for a quick lunch break before arriving in Thargominda at 2:30 for fuel and a quick drive around town.

Now on tar to Nocundra for the night and it is good to be off the muddy roads for awhile.  We have seen traffic to day as the day before we did not see anything.

Plenty of emus on this road and we had one that thought he would like to try out our bull bar and we almost got him but he stopped just as he got to our car and Pete said he fell over and then ran off.  There has been a lot of wild life today cows, goats, kangaroos, emus, cats, a pig and probably lots of other things we have missed.

The road is straight and narrow for miles a few hills around.  Everything looks like they have had some rain.

We have arrived at Noccundra stopped in at the pub to see where to camp for the night,  Down by the Wilson river was very nice so we found a spot and set up camp, had a lovely fire to keep us warm.  Just after we went to bed a feral cat was wondering around our tent knocking off things on our table.  I had to get Paul to shut the back of the car before one jumped in.
