Sydney – Bourke
My phone alarm woke us up at 4:00am this morning so we could
be on the road by 5:00am which we were and met Robin & Pete out past Rouse
Hill. Could not believe it we were there
first not by much though. We arrived in
Lithgow to 4deg at 6:55am after travelling on the Bells Line of road travelling
on Bells line of road. Now through
Bathurst and on our way to Orange the weather was changing and coming into the
rain and fog. Had some breaky at
McDonalds and the rain was quite heavy while we were there and showers all the
way to Wellington. Now it is starting to
look a bit brighter heading further west so hopefully by the time we stop for
lunch at Nyngan it will be fine.
By the time we arrived in Dubbo the sun was shining and it
was starting to get quite warm, had lunch in Nyngan at the park and on the road
again by 1:00pm. Made our way into
Bourke by 3:00 filled up with fuel before heading out to camp at Kidman’s camp
(caravan park) for the night.
Set up the camp
walked around the caravan park looking at all the things cooked our tea in the
camp kitchen. Went to bed around 9:00 before we froze to death. I seemed to be cold all night and I did not
feel I slept much at all.
