We have been on the road 6 weeks and this morning the
managers of the property have kindly taken us out to a great area he came
across a few days before and really amazing.
We were on our way now as it is 11:00am and we still have a few hundred
ks on dirt. Into Coober Pedy at about
12:30 and decided to get a room at the Stuart Range Caravan park. Had some lunch at Johns Pizza bar before
walking around town looking at opals.
Just before sunset we made our way out to the breakaways for some pics.

Saturday 31st Aug
Old Andado – Arckaringa Station (Painted Desert)
On the way to Mt Dare Pete had some problems with his fuel
so once in at Mt Dare he got a fuel filter and that fixed it. Left Mt Dare about 11:00am on the way to
Oodnadatta for a cold drink in the road house.
The road was not too bad a bit rocky we stopped into Eringa Ruins &
Lindsay Creek which has good camping. Before getting to Arckaringa station
stopped at the Painted Desert to take some photos could not stay long the
flies, flies are still bad.
Friday 30th Aug
Chambers Pillars – Old Andado
Today we are on the old Ghan railway line and this time it
has been graded and the road is good.
Pam & Jack left us at Bundooma Siding as they are very sick with the
flu and could not continue with us. We
passed Engoordina Siding Ruins through Finke after Pete & John had a play
on the race track. Lunch after New Crown
Homestead then onto Old Andado arrived there about 2:30pm we were the only ones
there for sometime until some other campers turned up. It was a very hot day and the flies nearly
carried us away. Camped there the night and early morning had a bit of a storm
with wind and a bit of lighting.
Thursday 29th Aug
Kings Canyon – Chambers Pillars
Pauls Birthday, Today was an early start as we will go via
Earnest Giles road and not sure what it will be like. Once on this road we had to let down tyres as
it was a bit corrugated but not too bad.
We stopped in at Henbury Meteorite Created for morning tea and a look
around the files are bad today. We had
to fuel at Stuart Wells before heading back 20ks to Hugh River stock
route. We had lunch under the rail line
lots of gates on this track. Arrived at
Chambers Pillars at 3pm and the flies drove we mad as it was very hot.
Wednesday 28th Aug
Kings Canyon
Pete, Robin, Paul & I did the big walk so we set off
around 7:00am, John came with us as he was going to do the short walk. Pam & Jack decided they would do the
short walk as Jack was not well, we took about 3 ½ hrs to do the walk and it
was getting very hot. We met the others
at the Kings Canyon resort for a drink in the bar before heading back to
camp. We stopped off at some springs and
some went for a short walk I went back with Jack to camp. Sat by the pool for awhile be for the others
returned. We went and had a look around
the station had an ice cream at the shop.
Tuesday 27th Aug
Ayres rock – Kings Canyon
Today the McKinley's & Bamforths left us for home and we continued on after
hitting the shops to get some supplies.
We made it to Curtin springs for lunch which was good. A nice drive to Kings Canyon which is all on
tar. The temp was climbing today and we
arrived at Kings Creek camp about 3pm set up camp and looked around.
Monday 26th Aug
Today will be a big day as we have some walking to do the
valley of the winds is the first on 7.6ks most of it in the sun very hot and
took us 2 – 3hrs. In the afternoon the
boys climbed ulur which took them 2 ½ hrs it had been closed for the last 3
days and had just opened at 1:00 today.
Hung around for the sunset before heading into camp and setting up tents
in the dark.
Sunday 25th Aug
Giles –
Early morning visit to the Weather station which was good
they don’t usually do tours on the weekend so the guy on duty took us around
while he was working great information.
Back to the roadhouse (Warakurna) before heading out, stopped at Beadell
tree (blaze tree) before back tracking a little looking for a billa bong which
we did not find. Lunch in a quarry off
the road. Through Docker River and Lasserter’s cave. We camped 40ks before the Olgers for the
night.
Saturday 24th Aug
Little Ian had left his key to the car in the tent so they
had to retrieve them before we go on the road (shackle for him today). Notabills hill was the first stop then
thryptmene Bore where we saw 2 camels on top of a sand dune watching us. At Beadell tree there was camel prints everywhere
not camels. We now turn onto Heather Hwy
it was very rutted and very slow going in spots. The great Central road into Warburton was
great and 26ks to there from the Heather Hwy. Lunch at the Warburton shop
before heading to Giles 229ks, several sightings of camels and passed a bike
and side car poor things getting all our dust. A lot of fires off to the side
of the road along the way and an abandoned caravan with Hot food tomorrow
written on it. Warakurna camp ground was
very clean with a dingo walking through camp after we set up.
Friday 23rd Aug
Carnegie Station – Camp Beadell
We are now on the Gunbarrel l hwy not sure what to expect
from now on it could be very bad or good.
The road was rough and corrugated
in area but all up not too bad we had morning tea at Geralton Bore and signed a
visitor’s book at Mt Everard. We had
lunch on a side road before heading onto Mt Beadell and have a walk up the hill
there. Camp Beadell was looking good as
we decided that was far enough for the day and the camp ground was not a bad
spot as the day was getting on.
Thursday 22nd Aug
We had some time this mooring so we went out of town to take
photos of the cars at the canning sights and after fixing all cars we got on
the road by 11:00am good effort boys.
Lunch was on the side of the road at 12:30 and the road was good and we
could all sit on 100ks. Had a short stop
at Mingal Pool good camp spot not 70ks to Carnegie Station. We pulled into the station at 4:00pm and it
was getting late decided to stay the night there.
Wednesday 21st Aug
Wiluna
The night was not too bad and we could have asleep into
today as we had to wait for the Ian’s to make their way into town. Little Ian had to order a leaf spring in
which will arrive tomorrow, John had to get a battery and Pete a tyre which all
arrive with leaf spring. So in the afternoon we had a walk around town looking
at the sights and filling in time. The
night was a bit noisy as the locals took their beers home to drink and the
music went nearly all night.
Tuesday 20th Aug
Pierre Springs – Wiluna
We have a big day today as we have a lot of wells to see so
on the road by 7:00am. Well 5 is the
deepest well of all and good water in this well 10ft 6in. This is where you can turn off to Granite
Peak Station or head onto the rest of the wells. Well 4b is through closed gates and Windich
spring for morning tea (great spot and toilet).
Well 4A & 3A just ruins so quick stop for photos, lunch at well 3
then onto the granites where we found well 2A the road very rock and very slow.
After well 2 the road was great turned off to north pool at 400pm for a
look. Good camping spot with some water
and as we were coming out of here Little Ian had a problem with his car the
leaf spring broke and the two Ian had to camp out there for the night and the
rest of us made it into Wiluna. We look
as though we might have a noisy night with the locals
Monday 19th Aug
Well 12 – Well 6 Pierre Springs
There was good water at well 12 and it has being
restored. Not far out of camp was Lake
Aerodrome drove around this for some time. Wells 11 & 10 is ruins and not
much there, Well 9 had stockyards and cattle there so we had morning tea. Wells
8 & 7 is just ruins some photos and moved on. We arrived at Pierre Springs at midday had a
well earned shower and did some washing as plenty of water in the well and it
was good. Some went drove back to
Inglebong Hills for a walk, while the rest of us stayed and had a rest at camp.
We had scones after tea which was very nice.
Sunday 18th Aug
Durba Springs – Well 12
We decided to have a walk before heading out today and up
the gorge and returned to the cars by 8:30am.
Well 17 had a walk into some aboriginal art I did not had out o this
walk. Now onto Canning’s Cairn for morning tea.
Well 16 had water but it was no good, Murray Rankins Trolley was resting
under a tree so we had to have some photos. We had lunch at well 15 and the
country was becoming very flat and the road very corrugated. Not much left at
wells 12 & 13 had a quick look and on our way. 10ks from well 13 Ian Mckinley had trouble
with his car the turbo hose had split so we had to wait on the road while they
fixed it to get to the next well as we were camping there the night. It was starting to get late and we were in
lead and a silly camel was on the road and we could not pass it so he was doing
about 40ks per hour for about 3ks not sure how he would be the next day. We
arrived at well 12 about 5:30pm this is a late day for us.
Saturday 17th Aug
Well 19 – Durba Springs
7:00am left camp this morning and headed for well 19 and
then passed through tropic of Capricorn, there was a burnt out 4x4. Headed into Onegunyah Rock hole for a look
5ks off the track. Well 18 was next and
the water was good so some topped up there water containers. We headed out to Diebel springs and had lunch
there could not see the springs as it was a walk up a lot of rocks. We arrived in Durba Springs about 3:30pm had
a look around great spot for camping.
Friday 16th Aug
Georgia Bore – Well 19 (before)
Wells 22 & 21 has no water and at well 21 Ian Mckinley
had to fix a spring on his car while we had morning tea. Well 20 were 10ks off the track and there was
not much left of the ruins. After lunch
we stopped at lake disappointment for photos and admire the view. Jill walked out on the lake with Paul and her
foot slipped into a soft spot and her foot came out black. The day was getting
n so we found a camp big enough for all of us on the side of the road.
Thursday 15th Aug
White Gums Bore – Georgia Bore
The sunrise was good today as there was a bit of cloud
around and it felt like we might get a bit of rain. Made our way into Cotton Creek for fuel and
some supplies before head south on the canning again. While at cotton creek we went and visited
the Health and Community to get a clean toilet as the ladies in the shop told
us her sister worked there and would let us use the facilities. Now it is 11:00am so on our way to Georgia
Bore and it was very hot so once there did some washing and it dried in
1hr. Baked dinner that night as we had
some good wood.
Wednesday 14th Aug
Desert Queen Baths – White Gums Bore
Up a Steep hill to a lookout before leaving the area and
heading back the same way to the other side of the park. We found
Tjingkulatjarra pool where we found 2 blokes camping and what a spot it was
with a little billabong. We took a loop road out of the park which was very
narrow and rough not much on this road.
Back to White Gums Bore to camp for the night.
Tuesday 13th Aug
Georgia Bore – Rudall NP
Just out of the bore we have a water crossing which was not
too deep all through safe and sound the road was good so travelling at a good
speed it took 1hr 15min to the turn off to cotton creek and then another 22ks
to Rudall and it is now 9:00am
Had morning tea at a bore at 9:25am and now well into the
park a heard of camels were on the road it took sometime for them to move off.
Lunch on the track near Compton Pinnacle at 1:00pm. Now 10ks into Desert Queen
Baths for the night. After setting up
camp McKinley found a pool to swim in, it was a bit cold to start with then I
don’t think we could feel anything after awhile as it did not seem too bad.
Nice spot to camp except very isolated.
Monday 12th Aug
Well 16 – Georgia Bore
As usual out of camp early and over the some dunes we saw
our 1st camel on the canning.
Stopped and looked at a lake filled with water and onto well 25 at
8:15am. We have seen our 2nd
camel of the trip how exciting not close though. There are lots of small lakes near well 24,
we had morning tea at well 24 as it was now 9:30am . The fuel dump was just
800m off the road from well 23 check all that out and now onto Georgia Bore and
we will have the whole afternoon to sit around and wait for Simpsons &
Bamforths to catch up.
Wednesday, August 21, 2013
Sunday 11th Aug
Good news came through early that all was fixed on little
Ian car and they would be on there way by mid morning. We continued on to Well 39, 38, 37 & 36
and the decision to camp early and let the others catch up to us which will be
tomorrow.
Saturday 10th Aug
Well 33 – Thring Rock
Now we are on another day and you never know what is around
the corner. Things have been going good
up until today. Krugers lost there high
lift jack off the car (found), and when we arrived at Mallowa Native well John
discovered he had lost the bracket off his fuel tank so after 1hr and repairs
done we were on the road again. Not far
down the track Ian noticed Little Ian was leaking diesel so all stopped
again. It was decided that he return to
kunawarritji with Pam & Jack to repair his fuel tank. 5 cars continued on to wells 31, 30 and
Thring Rock before we found a camp site and waited for new on little Ian.
Friday 9th Aug
Well 37 – Well 33
Today we only have 4 wells to do as Well 33 has good water
and we were all looking forward to a good shower and as we arrived there before
lunch a well earned break. We all
visited Kunawarritji (aboriginal community) at some stage in the afternoon to
get fuel and a few supplies. Great camp
spot room for all. During the day the corrugations were bad and we were sick of
being shaken apart.
Thursday 8th Aug
Well 41 – Well 37
As usual we are all up early and on the road as we have
another 5 wells to do before retiring for the day. Well 41 was the first and before we arrived
at Well 40 everyone except us took the wrong turn and had to double back. Saw
Tobins grave, Well 39 and 38 before lunch.
Now onto well 38 and Rock art Cave no art there any longer. We camped in a great spot amongst the trees
after well 37.
Wednesday 7th Aug
Well 46 – Well 41 (before)
As the sun comes up early on this side of the world we are
out of camp a lot earlier than we thought.
Morning tea at well 44 after some repairs to John’s & Jacks winch. We have a few more wells to go before camping
for the night. We found spot was not
working today so new batteries for it. Great camp site tonight.
Tuesday 6th August
Lake Gregory – Well 46
On the road early as we are not sure what today will
bring. Krugers lost there areal and body
armor,
At well 49 I knocked myself out on the post as I did not see
it. Stopped at Breaden Pool &
godfreys tank for a walk.
Now onto Well 47 (ruins) the road was rough with
corrugations on the way into camp we got firewood along the road for our baked
dinner. Well 46 has been restored and good water for the night so showers all
round. Pete had a flat tyre before
getting into camp.

Friday 2nd Aug
Dingo Well – Batton Hill
Jack in the lead and Pete tail end
As usual everyone was
up early so on the road today by 8:00am we do not have far to travel today
about 68ks so I thinks we will be in Batton Hill early.
The track was very narrow with trees hanging over so that
slowed things down a bit so we stopped for morning tea on the side of the road
with the cats eyes burs.
We arrived in Batton Hill about 11:00am and the wind was
just starting to pick up which was blowing all the dust everywhere.
Now the tents are up and all zipped up we did a little
washing, and as we are now a couple of days ahead of schedule we decided to go
into Alice for the night as some had to get more supplies than others.
Lindsay told us about a short walk up the hill so to fill in
time we did that and great view from up there.
Pete had been collecting paddy melons on the way so we had a
game of bowls for hr or 2.
Now it is 4:00pm Northern Territory time and we are still on
NSW time (I think we will have to change our clocks soon) Lindsay is taking us
out to Goyder’s Pillar for sunset which is on private property.
It was great out there we had some happy hr and watched the
sun go down with plenty of photos, everyone wore the shirts I tie dyed and they
all looked great.
Thursday 1st Aug
Camp 14 – Dingo Well
Not sure what to expect today so we left camp at 7:45 as
everyone was ready, Pete was the leader and Kruger’s tail end.
The road was very windy in and out of the trees and the
river so the I think this will be like this for most of the day,
We had morning tea at 10:15am to give the drivers a break
from all the stearing they have had to do.
We can only do 35ks per hr so in 2hrs we have done 25ks, so
it is a bit slow going.
I spotted 5 camels onto of a dune and as they were on Pauls
side and I was holding cameras and Pauls nexus I could not take any photos as
by the time I tried to get out of the car they had run to the other side of the
dune.
After lunch we found the track to Lake Caroline (not marked)
nice drive in but no water it was very big though.
We are now drive in the Hay River and lost our way for
awhile, We found a track out of the river but could not fine the main track so
after some went back down the river looking Ian track back a short distance and
found a way out. We have just spent
about and hr doing this and the day was getting on.
Now back on the track we came across Dingo Well and while
everyone was looking around Paul filled up our water container for a well
earned shower tonight. We drove a little
further to find a camp spot.
We had to do a bit of gardening so we could put up tents but
it was ok. Show and tell tonight was something we had found in the bush and
Pete & Robin had skulls (Camel head, Eagle head).Great fire.
Ian Mckinley shackle for leaving his side windows open and
nearly driving off,
Wednesday 31st July
Poepple No 1 Oil Well – Camp 14
Schedule leaving time was 8:00am as usual everyone was ready
at 7:30am so around the fire before putting it out.
The track was good and we were averaging 50ks for about 1hr,
then we came to the sand dunes and that was a bit slower as some of them had
twist and turns at the top which made it a bit tricky.
10:15am we stopped on the side of the road for a cuppa and a
break before heading back on the road at 10:45am.
Once over the sand dunes on top of a big dune was an enomose
camel so everyone stopped and took photos.
The track was very bumpy and at 1:00pm we stopped for lunch
and we were averaging 30ks as it was winding around trees which was close to
the road.
Now we are at the blaze tree and the time is 2:30pm then
back on the road at 2:45pm looking for somewhere to camp for the night.
As we went along he scenery changed every few ks.
After tea we played a game to work out what someone gave to
others from the car.
Denise shackle for using a fly swatter in the
car with the windows openTuesday 31st July
Birdsville – Poeppel No 1 Oil Well
We were ready to leave Birdsville at 800am so down to the
pub for a last photo.
We are in lead today and Little Ian tail end out to big red
and then into the Simpson Desert, the other saw a dingo on the first dune.
Up and down sand dunes i started the count but as the day
went on I lost count as there was so many and other things happening during the
day it was just to hard to count all of them.
Around 10:30am we stopped for a cuppa as there was a few
cars coming the other way so we thought it was easier for us to pull off for
awhile.
Lunch was at 1:00pm after a few more dunes.
Now onto Poppel Corner for a look before heading back along
the salt lake and onto the Hay River track.
At 4:00pm we found camp at Poeppel No1 Oil Well. Great spot
all level set up all tents and the boys made a great fire.
Nominations for shackle are:
Krugers: Lost insect repellent out of bag on top of car

Monday 29th July
Birdsville
This morning is very hot and no wind which is good. We went for a long walk this morning out to
pelican point to see if we can see the croc (fresh water one) with no luck.
We are waiting for the others to turn up today. They arrived
about 12:30pm so we said hello and let them set up the tents.
Sat around all afternoon before having a shower
ready to go to the pub for dinner
Sunday 28th July
Birdsville
Today we had a lazy day as in the morning we walked around
the town looking at the sites after having pan cakes for breaky.
It was extremely windy all day with the dust blowing
everywhere.
We had lunch at the bakery boys had curry camel pie, Robin
had chicken, and I had a lamb shank pie.
I cooked a travellers stew on the stove for dinner and left
over’s will be for the first night on the Simpson.
Little Ian and Jill turned up about 5:00pm so we let them
set up there tent and have dinner before heading over to the pub for a drink or
two before retiring to bed

Saturday 28th July
Birdsville
Fine
Last night was quite a warm night. Today we decided to go out to big red so Pete
could have a play on the dune.
The drive out to BIG RED is about 40ks so we left about
9:30am after bacon and eggs for breaky.
Once out there the boys let the tyres down before heading
east to west and that was the easy part.
Pete had a couple of goes to get over and so did Paul. All over from West to East after a couple of
goes on the different tracks in the sand.
We were watching 4 bikes have a go up and down also the
support vehicles and we ended up being there for a few hours just watching
everyone else trying the different tracks up the dunes.
The wind pick up so we decided it was time to head back
after airing up and once back in town Pete had to check out the tip and the cemetery
.
Lunch back at camp, did some washing and sat around for the
rest of the afternoon catching up on things that had to be done.
Friday 27th July
Walkers Crossing – Birdsville
Today we had about 3hrs drive so once the sun was up we
decided it was time to venture out of the tent and get on the road.
The road was not too bad would not like to do it in the rain
as it would be a bit slippery.
When we arrived at the Birdsville track we stopped for a
short break as we had all day to get into town.
We arrived in Birdsville about 12:00pm did a lap of the town
and went to the caravan park to check in and set up do the washing and have a
well deserved shower.
Quick lunch then walk around town to see the sites Pub,
Bakery, airport, servo, info centre.
Pete was disappointed as the museum was CLOSED.
We went to the Bakery for dinner as Pete wanted Lamb shanks
for dinner and they had it on the menu and he said it was great.
Now back to camp for a cuppa and a bit of a chat.
Thursday 26th July
Coongie Lakes – Walkers Crossing
Fine
Packed up and left camp 8:30am as it is a 2hr drive back to
Innamincka, we had a few things to see on the way out today.
Once in at Innamincka the boys filled the cars with fuel it
was very busy at the town centre today trucks and cars everywhere. We had to go and visit the tip just to see
the dingos and there were about 20 there all waiting for people to throw the rubbish
into the pit.
On our way out of town we visited Kings Grave, Wills Grave
we had morning tea there.
Now on our way to Walkers Crossing and had a bit of lunch on
the track.
Passed through Walkers Crossing new bridge there now it was
a bit to early to camp so drove a little further and Pete found a good spot to
camp for the night now it was about 3:30pm.
I made a damper and Robin cooked a cake for after dinner.
Beautiful sunset and lots of howling dingos to go with the
desert atmospher.
Friday, July 26, 2013
Day 5 Wednesday 24th July
Innamincka –Coongie Lake
While the boys were getting the pass for Coongie Lakes Robin
& I went and had a shower for $2.00 (3 min) so washing hair was quick.
Left Innamincka at 9:30am after driving around the town. The road out had been graded and some parts were good and
others not so good.
Arrived Kudriemitchie Outstation for a cuppa tea and a look
around.
Now onto the Lake and arrived to set up ten at 12:30 and had
some lunch and sat in the sun for the rest of the day, Caught up on my diary to get ready to post my
blog as soon as we arrive in Birdsville.
Tuesday 23rd July
A bit cold this morning after we had packed up the ten Paul
had a fish with no luck. It is now
10:00am so we must get on the road. Paul
spotted some firewood along the way so we stopped and pick it up. The road was mostly tar every now and then we
would get a bit of dirt road. A lot of
big trucks passed us today.
We arrived at the Dig Tree 1:30pm so it was time to have
lunch, after we arrived a lot of other cars pulled in to have lunch. We had a look around before we had some
lunch.
While we were getting the tea ready the dingos were having a
good howl and we were worried that they might do it all night.
Great fire and Pete even cooked some damper for
tea
Monday 22nd July
Coomeroo - Noccundra
Sun did not rise until about 6:30 and it was to cold to get
out of bed before then even though we were awake. Breaky in the great camp kitchen near the
homestead had a chat to Bruce as Chris was rounding up the calf’s to feed them
cotton seed. We had a look around the property before heading
off again.
Now at Hungerford 10:30am looked around town and the pub
before driving 14ks to the Currawinya
N.P to have morning tea at the sheering shed.
Now it is back 14ks to the turnoff to Thargominda the road
was not too bad a few road works happening along the way stopped on the side of
the road for a quick lunch break before arriving in Thargominda at 2:30 for
fuel and a quick drive around town.
Now on tar to Nocundra for the night and it is good to be
off the muddy roads for awhile. We have
seen traffic to day as the day before we did not see anything.
Plenty of emus on this road and we had one that thought he
would like to try out our bull bar and we almost got him but he stopped just as
he got to our car and Pete said he fell over and then ran off. There has been a lot of wild life today cows,
goats, kangaroos, emus, cats, a pig and probably lots of other things we have
missed.
The road is straight and narrow for miles a few hills around. Everything looks like they have had some
rain.
We have arrived at Noccundra stopped in at the pub to see
where to camp for the night, Down by the
Wilson river was very nice so we found a spot and set up camp, had a lovely
fire to keep us warm. Just after we went
to bed a feral cat was wondering around our tent knocking off things on our
table. I had to get Paul to shut the
back of the car before one jumped in.
Sunday 21st July
Bourke – Coomeroo
Now it is 7:00am and time to get up for another day of
adventure, we decided to go to the outback centre which has the visitors centre
there as well. We had a self guided tour
through the centre which was very interesting.
We had a drive through Bourke out to the Fred Hollows grave site then to
the Bourke’s Port.
Now it is 11:30am so out on the Road to Comeroo Station for
the night, we stopped for lunch on the side of the road. The road was very chopped up in places but
not too much considering they have had a bit of rain.
We arrived at Comeroo had a chat to Bruce and Chris before
going to check out the hot bore and thinking of where to camp for the night
there or the homestead. Well back to the
homestead to camp as we are having dinner with the owners and they have a great
camp kitchen.
Set up camp and had a walk around the property before having
a cuppa and working on my diary for awhile.
We are having tea with owners of the homestead and I think we are having
curried sausages in the camp oven which should be delicious. Dinner was goo and we sat around there fire
pit until about 9:00pm before retiring to bed.
Bruce showed us his museum of traps, cow bells,
camp ovens, tractor seats, and lots of other treasures.
Day 1 Saturday 20th July 2013
Sydney – Bourke
My phone alarm woke us up at 4:00am this morning so we could
be on the road by 5:00am which we were and met Robin & Pete out past Rouse
Hill. Could not believe it we were there
first not by much though. We arrived in
Lithgow to 4deg at 6:55am after travelling on the Bells Line of road travelling
on Bells line of road. Now through
Bathurst and on our way to Orange the weather was changing and coming into the
rain and fog. Had some breaky at
McDonalds and the rain was quite heavy while we were there and showers all the
way to Wellington. Now it is starting to
look a bit brighter heading further west so hopefully by the time we stop for
lunch at Nyngan it will be fine.
By the time we arrived in Dubbo the sun was shining and it
was starting to get quite warm, had lunch in Nyngan at the park and on the road
again by 1:00pm. Made our way into
Bourke by 3:00 filled up with fuel before heading out to camp at Kidman’s camp
(caravan park) for the night.
Set up the camp
walked around the caravan park looking at all the things cooked our tea in the
camp kitchen. Went to bed around 9:00 before we froze to death. I seemed to be cold all night and I did not
feel I slept much at all.

Getting Ready
Now as it is 2 day before we head out it is time to start loading up the car and finding spots for all the important things. We have taken out a few things and I hope we don't need the things we are leaving behind.
Tomorrow we will be loading the bags and the grog which is still on the deck.
| Oh no don't leave these behind |
